The future of temperature controlled transport

    By Jason Buckley | Blog, Temperature Controlled | 0 comment | 13 August, 2016 | 1

Logistics is a rapidly evolving industry. Many factors now shape the future of how company’s move goods and over the next decade we can expect to see big changes in the requirements from a courier.

It is an exciting time to be involved in transportation and we can expect to see huge improvements over the next 10 and 20 years. Whether that means an increase in electric powered vehicles, drone deliveries or autonomous vans, the future is a lot closer than many people realise. In fact self-driving trucks are already on the roads of Europe, with convoys of autonomous lorries that ‘speak’ to each other currently being trailed in the Netherlands.

There would seem to be scarcely any disagreement about the potential immediate benefits of these advances, including better fuel economy (and therefore lower CO2 emissions); improved safety, not least because of virtually zero braking reaction time by autonomous systems; and more efficient use of severely limited road space. Customer experience will also be significantly improved, routes could be updated in real-time with delivery options, from “bring it to me” to home, office, or even “my boat”. Predicted delivery time slots will become more precise and more convenient and forget about waiting for next day deliveries, your products could be with you in hours – day or night

What use to be just an idea may soon be a reality and there has been huge investments into the industry that will see big changes. Over the next few months we will putting the spotlight on delivering the future so please keep checking back to stay up to date.
